The civic platform “Liria ka Emër” has installed a “Waiting Clock” in Prishtina, 25 days ahead of September 16, the date when the final verdict is expected to be announced for the former KLA leaders standing trial in The Hague.

During the ceremony marking the installation of the screen, Ismail Tasholli of “Liria ka Emër” said he hoped that on September 16, the “countdown clock” would begin positively, expressing confidence that the day would bring a favorable development.

“We hope that on September 16, the countdown clock will begin on a positive note, because this society needs brighter times,” Tasholli said.

The initiative was also supported by the Municipality of Prishtina. Representing the municipality, Deputy Mayor Besiana Musmurati said the “Waiting Clock” would serve not only to count down the days until the September 16 decision, but also to keep alive the memory and anticipation of citizens.

“This clock will not only measure the days. Every morning and every evening, it will remind us that with every passing day, a people is waiting,” Musmurati said.

Meanwhile, PDK Chairman Bedri Hamza, who expressed his support for the “Liria ka Emër” initiative yesterday, said the “Waiting Clock” symbolizes the anticipation of the families, as well as that of all of Kosovo, for those standing trial in The Hague.

“This screen here is a symbol of our waiting in Prishtina. But similar screens will be installed throughout Kosovo. Because these are more than just screens. They are a message to the families who are waiting, to those in The Hague, and to the entire world that Kosovo does not forget,” Hamza said.

The installation of the “Waiting Clock” comes ahead of September 16, the date announced for the final verdict in the judicial proceedings against the former KLA leaders in The Hague.
