In a major operation carried out by the Directorate for Serious Crimes and Organized Crime, five individuals were arrested in Pejë on February 22, 2025, under suspicion of involvement in organized crime and planning a serious murder.
The operation, which was coordinated with the State Prosecutor and a preliminary judge, led to the apprehension of the suspects following several raids conducted by police units. The arrested individuals, including one identified as Fatos Çollaku, are accused of conspiracy and involvement in organized crime activities, as well as the preparation of a serious criminal act.
According to sources, Çollaku and his group allegedly planned a murder, with one other suspect, known as “Dardan,” also linked to the criminal organization. These suspects are expected to face legal action, with police set to request detention orders within the statutory period.
In cases like these, the law dictates penalties for the preparation of a specific criminal act, which can include providing tools or means to facilitate the crime, eliminating obstacles to its commission, or organizing and planning the act.
