President Donald Trump stated that he believes a mineral agreement with Ukraine would serve as a “deterrent,” because Russia would not have attacked the country if American workers were on the ground, working for the companies involved in the extraction process.
“President Zelenskyy will come to meet with me on Friday, Friday morning, and we will sign a really important agreement for both sides, because it will truly take us to that place,” he explained.
“You could say it’s a deterrent. I don’t think anyone would act if we are there with a lot of workers, and we’re dealing with rare lands and other things that we need for our country,” he continued.
