During a meeting today at the White House between Starmer and Trump, the UK Prime Minister handed the American president a letter from King Charles, inviting him to a state visit to the United Kingdom.
In the content of the letter from King Charles III, inviting Trump to the UK, it is stated that the visit presents an opportunity to discuss a range of issues of mutual interest.
“Besides presenting an opportunity to discuss a wide range of matters of mutual interest, it would also provide a valuable chance to plan a second historic state visit to the United Kingdom.
As you know, this is unprecedented for a US president.
This is why I would consider it helpful for us to be able to discuss, together, a range of options regarding the location and content of the program.
By doing so, and working together, I know we will further enhance the special relationship between our two countries, of which we are both so proud.
Yours sincerely, Charles,” the letter reads.
