The Basic Prosecution in Prizren has indicted Minister of Regional Development Fikrim Damka and another individual on charges of “assault” and “threats.”
According to the indictment, on February 9 in Prizren, Damka allegedly used physical force against A.M. and M.J. following a prior dispute over social media posts concerning the KDTP party and Damka himself. The incident reportedly occurred while the victims were in a neighborhood park with other members of their party, YTHP. The indictment states that Damka pushed one of the victims and verbally threatened them with harm.
The second accused, identified as F.D. (born in 1992), is also charged with issuing threats intended to instill fear and anxiety in M.J. after physically assaulting him.
The prosecutor has requested that the court, after reviewing evidence, find the defendants guilty and sentence them accordingly.
Damka was arrested on election day for allegedly assaulting and threatening a parliamentary candidate. He was initially placed under house arrest for 30 days, but the restriction was lifted on March 7 and replaced with a ban on approaching the victims or specific locations until April 7.
