The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade announced that it has imposed a €30,000 fine on KEDS after identifying six electricity meters with expired verification deadlines.
“This action was taken as part of ongoing activities to verify electricity meters across the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo,” the Ministry stated.
MINTI added that the Verification Commission continues its fieldwork across all seven regions of the country, aiming to identify and address any irregularities.
“Preliminary results from laboratory analyses conducted by the Kosovo Metrology Agency have revealed inaccuracies in recording time and date on the tested meters. In this regard, MINTI has formally requested that KESCO compensate affected consumers and will continue to submit daily reports as supporting evidence for this process.”
At the same time, the Verification Commission is working closely with the prosecution and investigative authorities for further handling of the case.
“MINTI remains committed to full transparency and will continue to regularly inform citizens of any developments, with the aim of protecting consumers and addressing their complaints.”
