At the central celebration of Eid al-Adha held today at the “Sultan Fatih” Mosque in Prishtina, thousands of Muslim worshipers gathered to mark this holy day. On this occasion, the Grand Mufti of Kosovo, Naim Tërnava, delivered a festive sermon emphasizing the importance of sacrifice, solidarity, and worship.
“We have gathered today to perform the Eid prayer, a day when sacrifice takes on deep meaning for the family, society, and the homeland,” said Tërnava. He highlighted that this holiday is a living reminder of Prophet Ibrahim’s (pbuh) sacrifice and a symbol of devotion to divine values.
The Mufti also addressed current challenges facing Kosovar society, including declining birth rates and economic insecurity, which he said are discouraging young people from forming large families. He called for more courage and faith in the sustenance guaranteed by God.
“Let us remember that the principles of our faith encourage us to have large families and not to fear their provision, as our Creator has guaranteed it,” said Tërnava.
The celebration concluded with the Eid prayer and traditional greetings exchanged among worshipers.
