Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had a discussion with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, where they talked about developments in Syria as well as the release of Israeli and foreign hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.
Netanyahu conveyed to Trump Israel’s determination to continue taking action against Iran and groups linked to it whenever they attempt to harm Israel.
“We are committed to preventing the rearmament of Hezbollah. I am clear with Hezbollah and Iran: to prevent them from harming us, we will continue to act against you as needed, on any front and at any time,” Netanyahu stated.
He explained that his conversation with Trump, which took place on Saturday evening, was “a very friendly, very warm, and very important discussion for the need to ensure Israel’s victory.” Netanyahu added, “We have no interest in conflict with Syria. We will determine Israel’s policy towards Syria based on the reality on the ground.”
