Former President Vjosa Osmani has welcomed the ratification of Kosovo’s membership in the Peace Board by the Assembly of Kosovo, describing it as a significant milestone for the country’s international standing.
In her reaction, Osmani said the move strengthens Kosovo’s international subjectivity and places it “where it belongs—side by side with America.”
She also highlighted the historical role of the United States of America during the Kosovo War, emphasizing its continued support for Kosovo.
“American Tomahawks pierced the darkness in 1999 and stopped the genocidal machinery against our people. It was America that stood on the side of justice when we needed hope and salvation the most. And it is America again today that stands with us,” Osmani stated.
She expressed gratitude to the US and Donald Trump for what she described as trust and the invitation for Kosovo to be part of the Peace Board as a founding member.
The development marks a new step in Kosovo’s efforts to deepen international partnerships and strengthen its global position.
