The new Pope, Robert Prevost, known as Leo XIV, made his first appearance on the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica, where he greeted the crowd with the words: “Peace be with you all,” reports Rks News.

“This is the first greeting of the resurrected Christ, the Good Shepherd who gave His life for God,” he said, explaining his choice of greeting. “And I also hope that this greeting of peace enters our hearts and our families.”
