President of the Republic of Kosovo, Justina Shiroka-Pula, met today with Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
According to a statement from the Presidency, during the meeting, President Shiroka-Pula expressed her readiness for close cooperation and coordination between institutions, in the service of citizens and the interests of the country.
Prime Minister Kurti thanked the President for her willingness to take on the responsibility and wished her success in office. He also expressed his commitment to working with her in fulfilling their constitutional responsibilities and addressing issues of importance to the Republic of Kosovo.
Following the meeting, Kurti also spoke to the media, thanking President Shiroka-Pula for accepting the candidacy for president.
“It was my first meeting with the President of Kosovo, Justina Shiroka-Pula. It was a warm welcome and a shared commitment to major and daily work in the state interest of the Republic and for the benefit of all citizens without distinction,” Kurti said.
He added that Kosovo now faces many tasks and commitments that, with goodwill, knowledge and the available capacity, should be advanced as quickly as possible.
Kurti said that, after more than a year and a half, the Republic of Kosovo finally has fully functioning institutions.
“Now, of course, we have no time to lose, and we must come together to address the many state challenges ahead,” Kurti said, adding that he had encountered understanding and willingness from the President to coordinate as closely as possible on all matters.
