Gjakova, April 7, 2025 – The Basic Prosecution in Gjakova, General Department, informs the public that, regarding the defendants with the initials B.R., N.V., P.K., M.S., of Serbian nationality, an act of decision was issued to begin the investigation, and a request has been filed in the Basic Court in Gjakova for the imposition of a detention measure for 30 days.
According to the Prosecutor’s request, it is stated that there is grounded suspicion that the defendants, with the initials B.R., N.V., P.K., M.S., of Serbian nationality, on April 5, 2025, on Gasper Karaqi Street in Gjakova, in cooperation with each other and acting in violation of the Law on Weapons No. 05/L-022, Article 2, Paragraph 1.24, possessed cold weapons, including one (1) axe, one (1) knife with a sheath, and one (1) saw knife. This occurred after the defendants were stopped by police officers because the vehicle, a gray Toyota driven by defendant B.R., had exceeded the speed limit in a restricted speed zone. After the driver of the car was questioned by police officers during a regular procedure about whether he possessed anything illegal in the vehicle, he responded that he had nothing illegal with him and expressed a desire for a vehicle inspection. After a search of the vehicle by police officers, sharp objects were found, which the defendants had carried during a visit to several Orthodox monasteries in the Republic of Kosovo in an organized manner.
These actions form the grounded suspicion that the defendants, with the initials B.R., N.V., P.K., M.S., have committed the criminal offense of Unauthorized Possession, Control, or Holding of Weapons under Article 366, Paragraph 1, in conjunction with Article 31 of the Criminal Procedure Code (KPRK).
