A protester reportedly lost consciousness during the 65th consecutive anti-government demonstration held outside Albania’s Prime Minister’s Office on Monday, prompting fellow demonstrators to call for immediate medical assistance.
The incident occurred as protesters gathered in front of the government building after first assembling in Skanderbeg Square before marching through central Tirana.
Witnesses and activists at the scene requested the intervention of medical personnel to assess the condition of the individual who collapsed. No official information on the protester’s health condition has yet been released.
During the demonstration, participants continued to voice criticism of Prime Minister Edi Rama’s government, calling for political change and demanding his resignation.
“Rama, resign and make way for the changes that Albanians are waiting for,” one protester declared during the rally.
The protest concluded with speeches outside the Prime Minister’s Office before participants continued their march through the capital, marking the 65th consecutive day of demonstrations.
The series of protests has become one of the longest-running anti-government campaigns in recent years, with demonstrators continuing to demand political reforms and government accountability.
