A plastic bag concealing a rocket launcher was discovered on Monday in the border area of Zubin Potok, near the village of Kleçkë, according to the Kosovo Police.
The Deputy Director of Police for the Mitrovica North region, Veton Elshani, reported that the incident occurred at 16:00 during a routine patrol. Upon investigation, forensic teams identified the weapon as an M80 rocket launcher with a 64mm caliber.
Investigation Underway
No arrests have been made in connection with this case.
“Today, on February 3, 2025, at approximately 16:00, while patrolling the border area of Zubin Potok near the village of Kleçkë regarding information on alternative smuggling routes, officers encountered a black plastic bag containing a suspicious object. Upon arrival of the regional forensic team, it was confirmed to be an M80 rocket launcher with a 64mm caliber,” Elshani stated.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
