The National Assembly of Serbia will hold a session on April 15 to decide on a no-confidence motion against the government of Serbia.
The session was scheduled by parliamentary speaker Ana Brnabić, with the no-confidence vote as the sole item on the agenda.
Background of the motion
The proposal was submitted in mid-February by 62 opposition lawmakers, citing the so-called “Generalštab” affair. According to the opposition, several ministers were allegedly involved in незаконите decisions related to removing protected status from a government building.
They also criticized Prime Minister Đuro Macut for failing to dismiss those ministers despite the accusations.
Parallel developments
On the same day, a new court hearing is scheduled for Culture Minister Nikola Selaković, who is also linked to the “Generalštab” case.
The parliamentary session is set to begin at 11:00, following a meeting of the parliamentary collegium at 10:00.
The vote represents a significant political test for Serbia’s government, as opposition forces seek to challenge its legitimacy over alleged corruption and misuse of authority.
