UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has reaffirmed London’s unwavering support for Ukraine during a phone call with President Volodymyr Zelensky. In the conversation, Starmer expressed his backing for Kyiv’s demand for a full ceasefire in the ongoing war with Russia, Rks News reports.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s office confirmed that Starmer “reiterated his steadfast support for Ukraine” and emphasized that the UK supports “Kyiv’s calls for Russia to commit to a full ceasefire.” He added that “now is the time for Putin to show he is serious about ending his brutal war.”

Meanwhile, Russia had declared a 30-hour “Easter ceasefire” over the weekend, but both sides have accused each other of violating the temporary agreement.

In an effort to push negotiations forward, the United Kingdom is set to host a diplomatic meeting in London on Wednesday, with expected participation from representatives of Ukraine, France, and the United States.
