The American Ambassador Sends Another Message to Kurti!

The U.S. Ambassador to Kosovo, Jeffrey Hovenier, has reiterated the United States’ stance that they are facing some challenges with the Kurti Government.

According to him, these challenges have affected the quality of the partnership between Kosovo and the United States.

“As the State Department spokesperson said, the U.S. government hopes that the Government of Kosovo ‘will return to close and constructive engagement with the U.S., the EU, NATO, and other partners.’”

“But, even though some areas of cooperation with the current government remain less positive than we would have hoped, the United States’ commitment to the people of Kosovo remains as strong as ever,” Hovenier said during a joint conference with President Vjosa Osmani.

Hovenier made these comments following the signing of a $34.5 million grant agreement by President Osmani with USAID.

Hovenier further stated that today’s event and the conclusion of an agreement to provide nearly $35 million for the people of Kosovo emphasize the United States’ commitment to the people of Kosovo, but not necessarily to any specific government.

“However, I know that this demonstration of support for the people of Kosovo does not necessarily apply to any specific government or the political actions of that government,” Hovenier said.
