That the Serbian Orthodox Church is closely connected with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is proven every day more and more.
This time KOS has refused a meeting with some visitors of Serbian nationality who came from Kosovo for a meeting in Serbia. The rejection happened for a simple reason. There are some organizations that do not agree with the president’s policy. However, in a state under regime, this is not acceptable.
The Serbian National Council of Kosovo has announced today that the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Porfirije, and the Church Assembly has rejected a meeting with them and two other non-governmental organizations from Kosovo.
The “main sin” of this rejection, according to this council, is that they do not agree with the “treasonous” policy of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
“The Church’s policy is that anything that the current government does not like is not acceptable to the Church either,” they said, N1 reports.
It is added that, together with the Serbian National Forum and the Popular Movement of Serbs from Kosovo “Atdheu”, repeatedly requested in vain that Patriarch Porfirije receive the delegation of Serbs from Kosovo
“We were led to such a conclusion by the previous attitude of the patriarch (Porfiti) and the majority of personalities towards the political decisions of Vučić and his government”.
The statement also states that the Assembly has not mentioned a single word about the “disastrous” policy of the Serbian government, which is largely responsible for the situation in which the Serbs found themselves in Kosovo.
