US President Donald Trump has emphasized the enduring ties between the United States and the United Kingdom, stating that Americans have no closer allies than the British.
Reflecting on a symbolic gesture by Queen Elizabeth II, Trump referred to a tree she planted during a previous visit to the White House, describing it as a living symbol of the centuries-old relationship between the two nations.
He noted that the tree has since grown significantly in size and strength, mirroring what he described as the deepening bond between the two countries.
Trump added that, much like the United States itself, the tree “was planted by British hands on American soil.”
He further stated that since gaining independence, Americans “have had no closer friends than the British,” underscoring what he portrayed as a longstanding and unique alliance.
