U.S. President Donald Trump has approved the first shipment of military equipment to Ukraine since returning to the White House, according to a report by The Times.
The Trump administration has informed Congress that it plans to export defensive equipment to Ukraine through direct commercial sales worth $50 million or more.
The announcement came one day before the signing of a rare minerals agreement between Kyiv and Washington.
A source close to the Ukrainian government told The Times that “this is seen as the first step of goodwill from Trump after we fulfilled what he had asked of us.”
