Former U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a directive to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), calling for the recruitment of at least 20,000 additional officers to enforce his deportation policies, Gazeta Sinjali reports.

This move is part of his broader plan to encourage undocumented immigrants to voluntarily leave the U.S.

In a video statement, Trump declared:

“I’m making it as easy as possible for them to leave the United States.”

The directive includes provisions for:

  • Free flights for voluntary returnees
  • A “departure bonus” as an incentive
  • No details yet on how the DHS staffing increase will be funded

Currently, ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement)—the main agency responsible for deportation—has over 21,000 employees.
