U.S. President Donald Trump will attend the upcoming NATO summit scheduled to take place in Turkey in July, according to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Speaking during testimony before the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Rubio described the upcoming gathering as potentially one of the most significant summits in the alliance’s history.

“I think the upcoming NATO summit in Turkey in July is probably the most important in NATO’s history because there are several issues that need to be clarified and corrected,” Rubio told lawmakers.

He confirmed that President Trump will attend the summit in person.

“The President will participate personally,” Rubio added.

During his testimony, Rubio also addressed several major foreign policy issues, including tensions involving Iran, discussions surrounding Greenland, and details from what he described as a tense phone conversation between President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The NATO summit is expected to bring together leaders from across the alliance to discuss security challenges, defense commitments, and key geopolitical developments affecting member states.
