Several Turkish soldiers of KFOR were awarded medals today in Pejë.

The ceremony was held at the “Villagio Italia” camp, where the medals were presented by Colonel Francesco Errico.

Errico expressed his gratitude for the significant contribution of the decorated soldiers in KFOR’s efforts to ensure a safe environment for all communities living in Kosovo.

“KFOR continues to carry out its mandate – based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 from 1999 – to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and to ensure freedom of movement, impartially and at all times.

KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders,” reads the KFOR statement.
