Kashmir – A team from the United Nations has arrived in Pakistan-administered Kashmir following reports of Indian airstrikes in the region, CNN reports. Two white UN vehicles were seen at the site where Pakistan claims a mosque was hit.

India has asserted that the strikes targeted terrorist infrastructure, not civilians. However, Pakistan has accused India of deliberately striking civilian areas, including mosques, claiming casualties and destruction in at least nine locations during last night’s operations.

In response, Pakistani authorities claim to have downed five Indian military aircraft and one drone—a claim that remains unconfirmed by India. The incident has heightened tensions in a historically volatile region.

India and Pakistan, both nuclear-armed nations, have fought several wars since their independence in 1947, with Kashmir remaining the central point of contention. This latest escalation has triggered global concern over the potential for further military confrontation.
