JD Vance has stated that the agreement between the United States and Iran was signed electronically over the weekend, emphasizing that its terms have already entered into force and that Tehran has not received any new financial relief.

“We signed the agreement digitally yesterday, and no money has been released. And that is not going to change,” Vance said during an appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America.

His remarks come amid lingering uncertainty over whether such an electronic signing had actually taken place, although that format had reportedly been discussed before the agreement was finalized.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump announced on Sunday that a formal signing ceremony is expected to take place in Switzerland on Friday. He added that several provisions of the agreement, including the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, will not take effect until the official signing occurs.

“With the Strait reopening after the signing of the Agreement on Friday, for the purpose of mine removal, oil will once again flow from both sides for the region and the world,” Trump wrote on his social media platform.

The U.S.–Iran agreement remains one of the most significant diplomatic developments of recent days, with further details expected to emerge in the coming days.
