Speaking on the TV program Rubikon on Klan Kosova, Vjosa Osmani said she aims to preserve the momentum created in relations with the United States and further strengthen ties between Kosovo and the U.S.
She emphasized that the relationship had been built through institutional efforts and, according to her, had resulted in clear American positions regarding Kosovo, as well as the opening of new chapters of cooperation that do not depend solely on the Kosovo–Serbia dialogue.
Vjosa Osmani also referred to a message she said she received from Donald Trump stating that “no one dares touch Kosovo’s borders,” underlining the importance of clear American support for the country.
“I believed that together we all owe it to Kosovo not to lose the extraordinary momentum that was created with the United States — momentum that came after more than a year of work which we, as the Presidency, carried out without any assistance and despite obstacles, in order to build a relationship with the Trump camp,” Osmani stated.
She added that these efforts resulted in what she described as the “cementing of the American position” toward Kosovo, including a letter she said was sent directly to her by Trump containing the message that Kosovo’s borders must not be touched.
