The analyst and connoisseur of political developments in the region, Toby Vogel, has reacted regarding the official position of Brussels regarding the possibility of lifting the measures against Kosovo.
Vogel has said that it is interesting how the High Representative of the EU, Josep Borrell, found a way to impose the measures on Kosovo, while for their removal it is already said that a vote from the 27 member states is necessary.
“Interesting that Josep Borrell found a way to impose “temporary and reversible measures” against the government of Kosovo without an official decision by the Council, however the removal of these measures suddenly requires a vote from the 27 member states”, wrote Vogel.
The EU spokesman, Peter Stano, in an address to the media, has said that the measures continue to remain in force and that they will be removed when the member states decide.
