Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has called on citizens to attend a rally organized by the Movement for the People and the State on April 12, where he plans to announce his official demands, which he emphasized will be “in accordance with the Constitution.”
In a video message posted on his Instagram account, Vučić invited the public to a “great assembly of our people,” scheduled to take place from April 11 to 13 in Belgrade.
“The main gathering is on the 12th at 7 p.m. I invite all political parties, all movements. I invite workers, farmers, homemakers, and pensioners. Above all, I invite the youth of Serbia. I call on everyone who wants to preserve, protect, and defend Serbia,” Vučić said.
The rally will be held in front of the National Assembly building, where, according to Vučić, participants will jointly send a message and outline specific demands.
“Our demands will be aligned with the Constitution, serious, and reflective of the will of responsible people and the majority in Serbia,” he stated.
However, Vučić did not specify to whom these demands would be addressed or who would be expected to fulfill them.
He also reiterated harsh accusations against students and citizens involved in recent protests, claiming that Serbia had been subjected to “unbelievable terror” in recent months and that those trying to destabilize the country had more “power and money” than he and his allies.
