Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vulin, who is sanctioned by the United States, stated that it would be better for the United States to “refrain from attempts to dominate Serbia and especially from supporting what he claims is the ‘violence’ of the self-proclaimed Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, against Serbs in Kosovo.”

Commenting on the announcement from the U.S. Department of State, which calls on Belgrade and Pristina to refrain from uncoordinated actions, Vulin emphasized that Serbia has nothing to refrain from. “The only path for progress in Kosovo is the unconditional implementation of the Brussels Agreement and the formation of the Union of Serbian Municipalities, which has been awaited for 11 years,” Vulin said in a written statement.

Vulin implied that Serbia had plans to eliminate Kosovo, but according to him, the Serbs saw the Americans as a threat.

“If the U.S. had refrained from bombing Serbia without the approval of the UN Security Council,” Vulin stated, “there would have been neither Kosovo, nor the expulsion of Serbs, nor destabilization in the region.”
