The Energy Regulatory Office of Kosovo (ZRRE) is scheduled to hold a meeting tomorrow morning, with the main agenda item being the approval of new electricity tariffs—a decision that directly impacts consumers’ wallets.

Although the session will also address several consumer complaints, the spotlight remains firmly on the tariff changes expected to be officially adopted.

ZRRE has already announced that, starting today, electricity prices have increased by 16 percent across all consumer categories. Initially, a 15% hike was proposed, but the final decision reflected an even steeper rise.

“The average increase in tariffs for all consumer categories, based on the Maximum Allowed Revenues, is approximately 16%,” ZRRE stated in its official announcement.

Currently, for households consuming up to 800 kWh per month, the daytime electricity price stands at 7.79 cents per kilowatt-hour. With this latest decision, monthly electricity bills are expected to rise significantly.

The new tariffs are retroactively effective from April 1st and will remain in force until March 31st of next year.
