Commemorative honors were held in the village of Slivovë, in the municipality of Ferizaj, marking the 145th anniversary of the fall of national hero Mic Sokoli.
The event was organized by the Municipality of Ferizaj in cooperation with the Organization of Veterans and Martyrs of Tropoja. It was attended by institutional representatives, members of the hero’s family, citizens, and students from the Mic Sokoli Primary School, which also marked its School Day.
During the ceremony, wreaths were laid and tributes were paid at the memorial site of Mic Sokoli, known for his heroic sacrifice in the Battle of Slivovë, where he lost his life for the country’s freedom.
“The commemoration served as a moment of reflection on the importance of preserving historical heritage and national values, while also acting as a call to educate and inspire younger generations through examples of sacrifice and patriotism,” the municipality stated.
