EU Commissioner Dubravka Suica will travel to Washington this week to attend a meeting of the Peace Board, established by U.S. President Donald Trump, in her capacity as an observer, a spokesperson for the European Commission said on Monday.
“The European Commission is not becoming a member of the Peace Board; we are participating in this meeting as part of our long-standing commitment to enforcing the ceasefire in Gaza, as well as to engage in international efforts to support reconstruction and recovery after the conflict in Gaza,” spokesperson Guillaume Mercier told reporters, according to Reuters.
