The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, is expected to hold a press conference today at 08:00, according to an announcement by her media adviser Bekim Kupina.

The briefing comes one day after Osmani submitted constitutional amendments to the Assembly of Kosovo, aiming to enable the direct election of the president by citizens through popular vote.

However, the political process faced a setback late last night when the Assembly session for electing the new president was suspended due to a lack of quorum.

During the session, only 66 lawmakers were present, significantly below the number required to proceed with the voting process, leaving the presidential election unresolved.

The upcoming press conference is expected to address the ongoing institutional deadlock and the next steps regarding the presidential election procedure.
