German journalist Michael Martens has reported that the party of former Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić is reportedly considering boycotting the presidential elections in Serbia scheduled for December, citing what it claims are unfair electoral conditions.

In a post published on X, Martens pointed out the irony of the situation, noting that Vučić’s party is reportedly preparing to boycott an election that, in Martens’s assessment, it is destined to lose.

“No idea whether it will actually happen, but the punchline of this story is brilliant,” Martens wrote.

His post highlights the political irony of a party that has dominated Serbia’s political scene for years now reportedly considering withdrawing from an election on the grounds that the conditions are unfair.

Martens did not provide further details about the reported boycott plan, and it remains unclear whether the party will actually proceed with it.
