Slovak Police have announced heightened security measures before, during, and after the match between Kosovo national football team and Slovakia national football team, taking place tonight in the playoff semifinal for qualification to the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The match will be held at the National Football Stadium in Bratislava, kicking off at 20:45.
Authorities have classified the game as a high-risk event, confirming that comprehensive security measures are in place.
According to police, the goal is to ensure:
- Protection of life, health, and property
- Maintenance of public order
- Smooth traffic flow across the city
Fans attending the match are urged to follow instructions from organizers and police and to avoid any unlawful behavior before, during, or after the event.
Police also confirmed that multiple units—including traffic police, riot police, and criminal police—will be deployed and ready to respond оперативно to any situation.
Meanwhile, Kosovo national football team is expected to receive strong support from the stands. Although Kosovo has been allocated 5% of the tickets, more fans are likely to be present backing the “Dardanians.”
So far, no incidents have been reported.
