Iran has issued a strong warning of “far more devastating” retaliation if the United States and Israel carry out attacks on civilian targets, according to state media reported by BBC.

In a statement released by a spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters—Iran’s highest operational military command—the country warned that any repeat of strikes on civilian infrastructure would trigger a significantly intensified response.

“If attacks on civilian targets are repeated, the next phases of our offensive and retaliatory operations will be much more destructive and widespread,” the statement said, as published by Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

The warning comes after Donald Trump threatened potential strikes on Iranian infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, if Iran fails to meet a Tuesday deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

The escalating rhetoric highlights rising tensions in the region, as global powers remain on edge over the risk of a broader conflict.
