French President Emmanuel Macron held separate phone conversations with U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, welcoming their decision to accept a ceasefire.

Macron described the move as “the best possible decision,” emphasizing the importance of full compliance by all parties involved in the conflict.

“I expressed my hope that the ceasefire will be fully respected by each side across all theatres of confrontation, including Lebanon. This is a necessary condition for the truce to be credible and sustainable,” Macron said.

The French president added that the ceasefire should serve as a foundation for broader negotiations aimed at ensuring long-term stability and security in the Middle East.

In addition to his calls with Washington and Tehran, Macron also spoke with regional leaders from Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, and Iraq as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to support the fragile truce.
