Firefighters from the Professional Fire and Rescue Unit in Gjakova spent the entire day responding to a large-scale wildfire in the village of Hereq.
According to the Gjakova Fire Department, approximately 150 hectares of forested and pastureland were affected by the fire.
“During the intervention, one of the firefighters was injured and received treatment from an ambulance crew. Fortunately, his condition is stable,” the Gjakova Fire Department said.
Thanks to the efforts of the firefighting teams, the fire was brought under control, preventing it from spreading further.
Firefighters from Deçan also joined the teams from Gjakova in the operation to contain the blaze.
