Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that he held a phone conversation today with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.
Vučić said the discussion focused on bilateral relations, energy, regional stability, and current geopolitical developments.
“We discussed strengthening energy security and supply stability, as well as challenges in the energy sector, including the operation of the Serbian Oil Industry, with the aim of maintaining market security and predictability,” Vučić wrote.
He added that they also addressed regional and global developments.
“I emphasized that preserving peace and stability is one of the key imperatives for the development and further progress of the Western Balkans and the broader international environment,” Vučić stated.
However, just a day earlier, Aleksandar Vučić had spoken about Serbia’s intentions to strengthen its military capabilities following a meeting with leaders of Republika Srpska, arguing that the security situation has changed after the Croatia–Albania–Kosovo agreement.
