Growth Plan: Kurti announces €61.8 million from EU for Kosovo, €29 million loan directly to state budget

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has announced that following the ratification of agreements on the Growth Plan between Kosovo and the European Commission, the transfer of financial funds in the amount of €61.8 million as pre-financing has begun.

According to him, around €29 million has been transferred in the form of a loan directly into the state budget, while the remaining €33 million will be channelled through the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF), including €17.73 million in grants and €15.31 million in loans.

Kurti emphasized that Kosovo remains committed to implementing the Reform Agenda and making use of the opportunities offered by the Growth Plan.

“After the ratification of the agreements for the Growth Plan between Kosovo and the European Commission, today the transfer of financial funds in the value of €61.8 million as pre-financing within this plan has begun. Of this amount, about €29 million has been transferred as a direct loan to the state budget, while the remaining €33 million, of which €17.73 million are grants and €15.31 million are loans, will go through the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF). Kosovo is focused on implementing the Reform Agenda and fully utilizing the opportunities offered by the Growth Plan. The government is taking all necessary steps to meet the deadlines, but we remind that this is a joint agenda involving all pillars of the state: the executive, judiciary, and parliament. We thank the European Union for this step, while we remain committed to implementing the next measures,” he said.
