Sweden has warned that Russia may carry out a limited military operation in the Baltic Sea to test NATO’s response.
According to Sweden’s top military commander, such an action could occur at any time and would not necessarily be large-scale, but would aim to assess the alliance’s political and military reaction.
European security officials have expressed concern over increased Russian military activity in the region, while NATO is strengthening its defences in the Baltic states.
