Kosovo Police and U.S. Embassy Hold Training on Critical Incident Management

The closing ceremony of the training activity “Critical Incident Management” was held today, organized by the ATA Program – Regional Security Office at the U.S. Embassy in Pristina, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police.

The ceremony was attended by the General Director of the Kosovo Police, Gazmend Hoxha, along with senior police management, representatives of the U.S. Embassy, local institutions, and security partners.

The training, conducted from January 14 to 21, aimed to enhance professional capacities for managing critical incidents and to strengthen interinstitutional coordination at the national level. Participants included representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (Division for Critical Infrastructure, Civil Aviation Security, and Department for Public Safety), Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Spatial Planning, Adem Jashari International Airport, Secretariat of the Kosovo Security Council, Kosovo Search and Rescue Association, Emergency Management Agency, Fire and Rescue Service (Mitrovica region), Ministry of Health, University Clinical Center of Kosovo, Primary Health Care Centers in Pristina, Municipal Emergency Service (194), Red Cross of Kosovo, KEK, and the Directorate for Safety and Emergencies of the Capital – Pristina.

Due to the importance of the activity, the Kosovo Police was represented at the highest executive level, including central-level representatives and regional police directors.

On this occasion, Hoxha emphasized the strategic importance of the training for increasing institutional readiness and improving coordinated responses to security challenges, underlining that interinstitutional cooperation is key to an effective national response.

“The Kosovo Police expresses special appreciation to the ATA Program and the U.S. Embassy for their continuous support in professional development and the advancement of security capacities in the country. We also thank all participating institutions for their engagement and contribution to this important training. This activity demonstrates a shared commitment to building an integrated and sustainable security system in service of citizens and the stability of the country,” the Kosovo Police stated.
