The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, hosted a meeting with Ömer Bolat, emphasizing the strong and expanding economic ties between Kosovo and Turkey.

During the meeting, Kurti praised the excellent relations between the two countries and thanked Turkey for its continued support for Kosovo on the international stage. He noted that trade exchanges between the two nations have doubled over the past decade, with the most significant growth occurring after the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement.

Both sides discussed opportunities to further expand the agreement, particularly in the services sector, including professional services, information technology, transport and logistics, as well as financial services. Kurti highlighted Kosovo’s growing potential in exporting services as a key area for future cooperation.

The Prime Minister also expressed his readiness to deepen economic collaboration, proposing that the second Kosovo–Turkey Economic Forum—following the first held in Istanbul in 2024—be organized in Prishtina later this year.

In addition, discussions included the activation of the Joint Economic and Trade Committee, aimed at strengthening structured cooperation between the two governments.

Addressing broader connectivity goals, Kurti spoke about plans to open a new direct air route between Kosovo and the United States, potentially with Turkey’s support.

He also underlined the close cooperation between the two countries in security and defense, expressing gratitude to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for Turkey’s continued international support for Kosovo.
