Alastair Campbell, who served as a senior adviser to former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, has announced an upcoming podcast interview with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, describing it as a “fascinating conversation” that included frank exchanges on a wide range of issues.
In a post on X, Campbell said the episode, part of the podcast The Rest Is Politics, will be published on Monday and features discussions on political developments, governance, and international affairs.
He also referred to their opposing positions during the NATO intervention in Kosovo period, noting that they were once “on opposite sides,” which, he said, contributed to what he described as constructive disagreements during their recent conversation.
“Coming out on Monday. A very interesting conversation for The Rest Is Politics with President Vučić in the hot seat. We were on opposite sides during the Kosovo war, which led to some friendly disagreements today. He was very generous with his time and views across a wide range of issues. Highly recommend when it’s released,” Campbell wrote.
The announcement has drawn attention due to the historical context between the two figures, particularly given Campbell’s role in the UK government during the Kosovo conflict period and Vučić’s political background in Serbia.
