Glauk Konjufca, who also serves as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo, has urged the European Union to accelerate the process of granting Kosovo candidate status.

Konjufca made the remarks while participating in the panel “Western Balkans and the European Union: Towards Full Integration” at the Delphi Economic Forum in Greece.

According to the Foreign Ministry, he emphasized what he described as Kosovo’s strong alignment with EU values and the progress the country has made on its European integration path. He also called for faster action from the EU in recognizing Kosovo as a candidate country, arguing that regional integration represents a strategic investment for Europe.

“Kosovo is ready for further steps, and the European Union should support this commitment to strengthen not only regional stability but also Europe as a whole,” Konjufca said, according to the statement.

He further warned that excluding Kosovo from the integration process could weaken the Western Balkans’ overall momentum toward EU membership, referring to the region’s current framework.

Konjufca’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions about the EU accession process for Western Balkan countries and the pace of enlargement policy.
