Matthew Whitaker described his recent meetings in Prishtina as productive, following discussions with senior Kosovo officials including Acting President Albulena Haxhiu, Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and Defense Minister Ejup Maqedonci.
In a post on X, Whitaker said that Kosovo is increasingly strengthening its role as a contributor to international security, referencing its involvement in initiatives such as the Peacebuilding Board and planned personnel contributions to the International Stabilization Force in Gaza.
He also highlighted Kosovo’s commitment to purchasing defense-related equipment from the United States and developing its domestic defense industrial base, describing it as an important step toward deeper strategic cooperation.
Whitaker stated that stronger partnerships lead to a more secure future, underscoring Washington’s view of Kosovo as an emerging security contributor in the region.
