Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has welcomed the resolution presented in the United States by three American congressmen—Keith Self, Ritchie Torres, and Mike Lawler—which supports Kosovo’s membership in NATO.
In a post on the social network “X,” Kurti expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of the United States toward Kosovo and the entire region.
“We are grateful for the continued and steadfast support of the US for our prosperity, the security of our country, and that of the entire region,” Kurti said.
The resolution, introduced on April 30 with bipartisan support, emphasizes that Kosovo’s membership in NATO is essential for protecting US national security interests in Southeast Europe.
The document also highlights Kosovo’s democratic governance, civilian control over its security forces, and multiethnic coexistence as strong arguments for integration into the alliance.
The Government of Kosovo considers NATO membership one of its key strategic priorities, viewing it as a guarantee of long-term peace and security in the country and the Western Balkans.
