Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced that the reconstruction of the Ibër Mosque will begin, a monument of historical and cultural importance originally built in 1777 and burned during the war on May 2, 1999.
“Today, together with Mufti Naim Tërnava, Chief Imam Vedat Sahiti, and Minister Saranda Bogujevci, we signed a cooperation agreement for the drafting and implementation of the reconstruction project. Through this memorandum, the Government of the Republic of Kosovo supports the restoration of this monument of historical and cultural significance,” he said.
Kurti also announced that another memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Islamic Community of Kosovo, aimed at strengthening the preservation and promotion of Islamic cultural heritage in the country.
The Prime Minister emphasized that these initiatives are part of institutional efforts to protect cultural heritage, particularly following the damage caused during the Kosovo War.
He added that investments in this area will continue in the coming years.
