Marco Rubio stated that the government of Cuba has rejected a $100 million humanitarian aid offer from the United States at a time when the island is facing severe consequences from hurricanes, as well as a deep economic and energy crisis.

According to Rubio, the aid package was intended for populations affected by natural disasters and prolonged fuel shortages, but Cuban authorities allegedly declined to accept it for distribution.

“We have offered $100 million in humanitarian assistance that, so far, has not been accepted for distribution to citizens,” Rubio stated, adding that the United States remains ready to assist the Cuban people.

However, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba rejected the claims, calling them false and accusing Washington of worsening the island’s crisis through sanctions and economic policies.

Meanwhile, according to international reports, Cuba continues to struggle with severe fuel shortages, electricity grid problems, and difficulties in securing food and medical supplies, deepening the country’s humanitarian crisis.
