Acting President of Kosovo, Albulena Haxhiu, received EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos in an official meeting during her first visit to Kosovo.
“We discussed the European path of the Republic of Kosovo, the reforms that need to be advanced, and the importance that the enlargement process be fair, credible, and based on merit,” Haxhiu said.
She further stated that Kosovo sees its future in the European Union, describing it as the choice of its citizens, a state project, and a strategic orientation.
Therefore, she added, Kosovo expects its commitment to democracy, rule of law, and European values to be clearly reflected by the European Union as well.
“I thanked Commissioner Kos for her visit and for her engagement in the enlargement process. Kosovo remains committed to close cooperation with EU institutions, in the interest of our citizens and of a more complete, safer, and more democratic Europe,” Haxhiu said.
